Gattica final thoughts:
One of my favorite pieces of the movie Gattica is that although for much of the movie, the human population of genetically altered people seem to be perfect in all ways except that they lack emotion and feelings. At the end of the video we find that this isn't necessarily true. Some individuals did feel love, compassion and were sympathetic and helpful to those termed "de-generates".
1. Can you give two to three examples of ways that the people around Vincent helped him achieve his dream and resisted a "genoism".
2. Please respond to at least two other people's opinions.
One example of people helping vincent was when the guy giving the urine tests to get on the spaceship let him through and another is when Vincents brother doesn't turn him in even when he knows who he is.
ReplyDeletei agree to u but can u add a little more details.
Deletewhen vincent was saving his brother again when they swim out far. they seems that they are not perfect in there own way some of them have feelings for others like his brother and his girl friend. when they start to send them up in space but he did not know that he has to take a pis test before they head into space. they did know that he was a imposter the whole time.
ReplyDeleteJerome and the doctor that made it happen.
i agree with you but can you learn how to spell
DeleteCan u add a little more details.
DeleteDon't forget his "girlfriend" did not say anything to the mission directions or anything else, so in a way she kind of helped.
DeleteWell I thought it was pretty cool that HIs Brother Anton Didn't turn him in and Said that was his brother and also irene didnt say no word and the doctor too wen he got his urine test aslo didn;t say anything and because of that it made his goal come true....
ReplyDeleteI agree with the fact that it was cool that Vincent's brother Anton did not turn him in when he should have because of his job. Irene seemed to care enough about Vincent to say nothing to anybody when she should have. Good examples.
Deletecan u add more details in this comment
Delete1. A: People around Vincent helped him in many ways to achieve his dream. Reasons for this is because Jerome helped him towards the ending to continue to work at Gattica with a life time supply of his DNA, the man that tested his urine let him go on the mission trip even though he found out that he wasn't really Jerome, and Irene didn't judge him when she found out that he was Vincent because she found that she cared deeply for him; she even helped him hideout when detectives came to find him.
ReplyDeletei agree to u so i think you have a lots of thought into this paragraph
DeleteI agree with you
DeleteThank you Nick.
Deletecouldn't have said it any better
DeleteIn one way you could say that his brother loved him more of a hate love relationship with Anton and Vincent , Another person is jerome Jerome gave Anton everything he needed to become Jerome and i believe that he showed the most love for Anton gave up everything he had left to give a person he didn't know a chance to become something great and do tremendous things in life.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good example. Anton seemed to be selfish to me, in my opinion, but he turned out to be a brother that wanted to help his own.
DeleteThankyou...
